What are Nails:

Nails are an extension of our skin. Our nails are made of a type of protein called 'keratin'. The original color of the nails is transparent white. The nail bed looks pink because the pink color of the 'nail bed' is seen over the 'nail plate'. There are no nerves or ballad vessels in the nail plate. Underneath it is the nail root, and associated with it is the 'matrix'. Cells are formed from this matrix and it hardens into nails. At the base of the nail there is a white area (like a half moon) called 'lunula'. Around the nail is a tough skin called the cuticle. Toenails are thicker than our hands. Just as human faces are different, nails also have different 'shapes'. Various nomenclature has also been done based on it. For example, concave, square, angular, narrow, fan, olive, arched, tubular etc.

Another reason for this can be if for some reason there is an injury to the nail, a needle puncture or there is bacterial contamination then this disease can also occur. It can be caused by an invasion of bacteria or candida (fungus) or both. If the paronychia is chronic or long-standing, it should be assumed that it is caused by candida (fungus). But in case of new paronychia bacteria should be considered first. In this case there is a pain in the fingernail and gradually it spreads to the entire fingertip. Fingertips become swollen and red. Then there may be pain and pus build up inside. Pus is seen coming out on pressure. A mild fever may also be present. When it becomes chronic there is no pain, but there is slight pain.
